I am pleased as the pastor of St. Paul Parish to welcome you to our parish website. If you are just visiting or you are looking for a place to belong I hope that you will find either of our worship sites, St. Paul or St. Joseph, to be welcoming. It should be a place where you feel a part of our community of believers.
As a community of faith, an enclave of charity and a spirit-filled school of education, St. Paul Parish has been a beacon of light to the city of Owosso and Shiawassee County since 1871. Within the hallowed walls of St. Paul School, countless generations of students have thrived in an environment of scholastic excellence coupled with faith-filled Catholic doctrine. Year after year St. Paul School graduates are recognized throughout our community with awards and honors as they enter into high school and college programs. Through the seeds planted at our school so many have gone on to lead successful lives rooted in a deep and inspiring faith.
In 2015 the parishes of St. Paul and St. Joseph were clustered, sharing one pastor and one administrative and ministry staff. We have brought two distinct parishes together into one community with two worship sites. In July of 2017, the parishes were merged to become one parish.
The Catholic Community of Owosso has become a place of truly encountering Our Lord through study, sacraments, faith sharing groups and opportunities to serve the less fortunate. Our dynamic staff interaction with our parish community is one of the keys to the great success that is St. Paul Parish. Our community is made up of dedicated men and women who have embraced their faith and have truly committed to their baptismal promises to live out that faith each and every day.
St. Paul Parish and St. Joseph Church will continue to be a welcoming place for those seeking God’s grace through the sacraments, through Catholic education, and through the reception of his Word into our hearts. With a vibrant community and a deeply held faith in our Lord I am confident that the future of St. Paul Parish will endure for many years to
come.
Abundant Blessings! Fr. Michael O’Brien
